Date Wed, 2016-03-09

Coordinated Science Laboratory Auditorium (B02 CSL)

Time 4:00 pm

Information Trust Institute

Event Type Seminar

Many commercial products and academic research activities are embracing behavior analysis as a technique for improving detection of attacks of many sorts - from insider to remote network attacks. This talk will review the technology and mathematical basis for computational behavioral analysis as it arises in security. Several examples will be presented.

Professor George Cybenko is the Dorothy and Walter Gramm Professor of Engineering at Dartmouth. Prior to joining Dartmouth, he was Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UIUC. Professor Cybenko has made key research contributions in signal processing, neural computing, parallel processing and computational behavioral analysis. He was the Founding Editor-in-Chief of IEEE/AIP Computing in Science and Engineering,  IEEE Security & Privacy and IEEE Transactions on Computational Social Systems and a co-founder of FlowTraq Inc ( Professor Cybenko is a Fellow of the IEEE, member of the US Air Force Scientific Advisory Board  and received his BS (University of Toronto) and PhD (Princeton) degrees in Mathematics.
