03/20/2012 - 7:38am Networked systems often are not as efficient or reliable as they could be, largely because they are informationally decentralized, comprise many nodes carrying disparate information, and are subject to constraints on energy, data storage and computational capabilities. ITI researchers and their collaborators aim to address the problem by developing a general theoretic framework and tools to help optimize these sensing systems.
12/08/2011 - 12:00pm Sarita Adve has been named a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). She was selected for her "contributions to shared memory semantics and parallel computing." Her research in computer architecture and systems, parallel computing, and power and reliability-aware systems focuses on a full-systems view and is notable for its multidisciplinary collaborations.
11/30/2011 - 4:46am Applications for ITI's ICSSP undergraduate scholarships starting with the Fall 2012 semester will be accepted through April 2, 2012. See the Illinois Cyber Security Scholars Program (ICSSP) program page for details or to apply!
11/28/2011 - 4:46pm Cloud computing is a game-changer for businesses, which now face the choice of adapting to the demand for ubiquitous access to data or losing customers to tech-savvy competitors, says an ITI expert in e-business strategy and information technology management.
10/30/2011 - 11:46pm The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Carnegie Mellon University, and North Carolina State University are each receiving an initial $1 million in grant funds from the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) to stimulate the creation of a more scientific basis for the design and analysis of trusted systems.
